I like to focus on the medium of paint itself and am interested in its materiality and the power of texture. Paint creates movement across a canvas. Action in a painting I feel is a complete interlocking of image and paint; so the image is the paint and the paint is the image. My desire is to unite idea with technique and work it out in the painting. I tend to work and re-work a painting, sometimes leaving it untouched for months until some kind of completion is acheived.
